What are the most characteristic features of architectural concrete?
Variability of shades and textures on the surface – it is possible to have delicate streaks, color abrasions and small pores and holes. Their numbers on the concrete surface is not uniform, they may be unevenly distributed.
Why do we recommend the purchase of products from the same production batch?
Colors of products from various production batches may be differently saturated, as for the production of concrete we use natural raw materials (cement, aggregates), whose color tends to change. To eliminate possibility of big differences in shades of individual elements, we recommend ordering all products from one production batch.
Do differences in shades of architectural concrete disappear?
Architectural concrete products sometimes become mat and colors are aligned (differences in hues, streaks and abrasions disappear), however differences in shades do not disappear completely (after half year they become less visible).
How to maintain architectural concrete?
Any contamination should be promptly removed, as leaving it may cause stains and discoloration to appear. You must not use any acid- or alkali-based detergents. Recommended cleaning: damp cloth and mild detergent, in case of Slim slab - cleaning detergents for stone or ceramic floors.
Are Modern Line architectural concrete products impregnated?
Modern Line furniture, small architecture and flower-pots are impregnated, however impregnation does not protect them from stains caused by standing fluids, oils, acids and strong alkalis. Fair-faced concrete slabs are impregnated in their mass, so before laying and using them we recommend impregnation. Recommended impregnating agent: Sopro 704 and AKEMI ANTI-FLECK NANO.
How to use fair-faced concrete products in winter?
Architectural concrete products are frost-proof and resistant to atmospheric conditions, so they can be used outside for the whole year without providing any protection. You must not use any deicing agents or sharp tools to remove snow and ice, because fair-faced concrete is not resistant to scratching and impacts with sharp edges.
